DSquared2 Updates He Wood Fragrance
DSquared2 is ramping up its aftershave offering, revealing a new version of the firm’s popular He Wood fragrance.
The Canadian brand launched the original back in 2007, going on to become the firm’s best-selling Eau de Toilette.
Design duo twins, Dean and Dan Caten confirmed the return of original co-creator to work on the scent, dubbed He Wood Intense, earlier in the year.
Grenoble-born perfumer Daphne Bugey is credited with fragrances by the likes of Issey Miyake, Le Labo, and Kenzo.
According to the international fashion house, the update captures three key elements: air, water, and wood. Top notes include incense, water accord, violet leaves and violet; at the heart is guaiac, sandalwood, cedar and vetiver; while musk, amber and white fir has been used for the base. The result is described by the label as a woody vetiver.
A glass bottle is encased and laser-engraved in real Canadian Red Alder wood, making each unique.
It’s not the first time the design duo has built on the success of the original. He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood, He Wood Ocean Wet Wood and He Wood Silver Wind Wood are all previously released versions.
He Wood Intense will be available in a 30ml (£38), 50ml (£50) and 100ml (£67) Eau de Toilette when it launches in Harvey Nichols, Harrods, Fenwick, Selfridges, House of Fraser, Debenhams and selected independents from mid-May.
