First Look: Duvetica SS14
Outerwear brand Duvetica is making the most of April showers, tying in its SS14 release with the possibility of downpours.
The Italian firm, which specialises in rainproof jackets, is hoping wet weather will increase demand for its goose down styles; previewed exclusively through FashionBeans.
Despite depending on bad British weather, the new collection delivers in a number of summer-ready shades, across hooded and non-hooded versions.
Cementing its association with Italian style, particularly that of Venice, pioneering fabric technology has been mixed with patterns including camouflage, plaid and florals. The bold prints offer the option of being worn as linings or full jackets on several reversible pieces.
Keen to show that padded outerwear is not just for autumn/winter, Duvetica, founded in 2004 by Giampiero Vagliano and Stefano Rovolett, uses lightweight French grey goose down in all of its fitted models.
With only a few years in the industry, the label has already built a name for itself, including appearing in Junya Watanabe’s latest ‘Man’ line.
The brand’s recent expansion into Germany counts 150 stores across Europe that distribute the jackets. However, the main stockist for UK shoppers is MATCHESFASHION.COM, which will be selling the SS14 line when it drops next month. Prices start at €260 (£217), ranging up to €490 (£408).
