New Trainer Styles Debut At UK Stockists
Dutch label Filling Pieces has used its AW14 lookbook to introduce a number of new models and fabrics to its footwear arsenal. The images, shot by Laurens Eindhoven, feature all new leather and cotton woven patterns, natural and Scottish grain leather, and marbleised rubber margom cup soles in grey and camouflage as part of the latest release. Other casual additions to the range include the 1970s skate shoe-inspired Era Low shape, which appears across four models. Filling Pieces worked with Liberty London on the collection, using two of the British department store’s floral and boat print fabrics on low-top designs. The footwear label has previously collaborated with the likes of Ronnie Fieg, Poste Shoes and LN-CC. Bosses were keen to highlight the minimalist design ethic by titling the collection ‘Less Is More’, a phrase taken from Robert Browning’s 1855 poem Andrea Del Sarto. Manufactured by hand in Portugal, Filling Pieces has confirmed it is increasing production numbers of its trainer line in order to expand sales distribution. The AW14 collection is available now from Filling Pieces’s London store and UK retailers including Harvey Nichols, End Clothing and Opumo. Prices start from around £150.
