Knitwear Brand Confirms Exclusive Ranges & Retail Plans

British knitwear label Chinti & Parker has debuted its first ever menswear collection as it readies to launch several exclusive ranges and plans standalone stores.

The luxury ready-to-wear firm has created a 34-piece, 17-style line made up of cashmere, lambswool and merino wool jumpers and cardigans.

Ribbed crew necks, textured basket weaves, intarsia patterns and contrast stripe models appear alongside knitwear staples in basic colours.

Details include contrasting cuffs and sleeves, star motifs, elbow patches and across-the-chest prints.

Chinti & Parker was founded in 2009 by cousins; former Browns employee Rachael Wood and beauty industry expert Anna Singh.

The co-founders told FashionBeans the launch comes in response to growing demand, but was also viewed as the next natural step.

“The main brand already has a boyish charm and the casual chic aesthetic translates well between menswear and womenswear,” added Singh.

In late October the pair will roll out a capsule collection exclusively at Selfridges. The range contains five of the brand’s best selling styles, reworked for the London department store.

There are also plans to extend its current womenswear relationship with Liberty to include menswear in the same month.

Singh later revealed that Chinti & Parker stores could soon be a fixture on the high street with a move into retail “on the brand’s to-do list”.

Work has already begun on the SS15 season, which will see the line expand into organic cotton t-shirts and shirts.

The debut AW14 menswear collection is available from today via Matches Fashion and chintiandparker.com. Prices start from £280 for lambswool pieces and peak at £425 for the cashmere hoodie.
