Heritage Sports Retailer Launches Fourth International Collection
Hundred year old sports brand Gymphlex has been given an update, thanks to new images from the British firm’s AW14 pre-fall campaign.
The sportswear supplier has combined a century of heritage with modern materials and production techniques for its latest collection.
The campaign, shot by on Hampstead Heath by photographer Jonathan Daniel Price, features model Jimmy Bolland in casual pieces recreated from the Gymphlex archive.
Brushed wool jumpers, collegiate striped T-shirts and polo shirts aim to merge sporting themes with everyday style.
Founded in 1906, Gymphlex has manufactured for sports clubs, schools and universities as well as for British fashion houses including Burberry, Barbour and Margaret Howell.
Despite beginning business in Leicester, Gymphlex was only available in Japan throughout the nineties. The brand’s SS13 collection was the first to be sold to an international market and is today found in stockists across three continents.
The firm is also known to have developed several exclusive fabrics such as raw flannel and two fold Egyptian jersey.
The AW14 pre-fall collection from Gymphlex is available to buy online now. Prices start at £30 for T-shirts, £50 for shirts and £70 for both knitwear and outerwear.
