Australian Menswear Label To Become London Chain

Success in Covent Garden has led Australian menswear label Industrie to look for further retail opportunities, its general manager has confirmed. The brand, which sells a mix of casual and formal menswear, aims to expand with an additional five stores in London alone, despite only launching its first 11 months ago. General manager for retail Scott Gouge told Drapers he is “working with several estate agents” to kick start the “organic and measured” growth of the brand. The exact locations of the five additional outlets is yet to be revealed. No comment has been made on whether any will appear in larger shopping centres across the capital such as Westfield in Shepherds Bush and Stratford. Gouge has a long way to go if he intends to replicate the availability of Industrie in its native Australia, where it has opened 80 stores since being founded in 1999. The current flagship on Earlham Street, Covent Garden, measures 1,234sq ft and sits alongside other menswear names in the Seven Dials area including Peter Werth, Gibson and Foxhall London. Industrie’s range of t-shirts, shirts, jackets, denim, chinos, shorts and swimwear is available to buy online and in store now. Prices range from around £10 for accessories up to £110 for leather jackets.
