Watch Brand Collaborates With Iconic Graphic Designer
Following on from recent team-ups with Matthew Miller and the Royal Air Force, G-Shock has turned to illustrator and the founder of clothing brand Natural Born, Kevin Lyons, for its latest collaboration.
Lyons has produced the limited edition GB5600B-K8 watch in a fun grey and white brickwork print, staying true to his signature cartoon style.
The American designer set his sights on a watch that “would illustrate how tough G-Shock is”, interpreting the idea of concrete blocks and classic ‘ska’ anthems from rudeboy culture into the final product.
Aside from the aesthetic, the timepiece comes forward-thinking functions such as Bluetooth connectivity – which allows users to see incoming calls, e-mails, and social media alerts, and control music playback – a touch-sensitive screen and auto LED backlight.
Just 20 pieces of the limited edition model will be available from December 17 at the G-Shock East store, Casio London, and online at casioonline.co.uk, priced at £200.
