Outdoor Firm Celebrates Centenary With New Range
Haglofs, the largest supplier of technical outdoor equipment in Scandinavia, plans to celebrate a century in business with the launch of a new collection. The brand’s 19Fourteen range, a reference to its founding year, comprises clothing, footwear and accessories designed for travel and urban lifestyles. Performance items feature in bright colour ways, with 30 per cent made from recycled fabrics and a further 40 per cent sourced sustainably as part of its voluntary agreement with the environmental Bluesign initiative. To coincide with the launch, designers at Haglofs have also recreated the very first product sold by its founder. The Backpack No.1 has been produced entirely using Swedish wool, leather and rivets in a limited run of 1,000 pieces. A spokesperson for the brand said: “Working solely with Swedish suppliers and materials produced in Sweden is a big deal. And to draw the backpack to a close in the way that we did by having the possibility of working with the Haglöf family – and knowing that Wiktor Haglöfs’ son, Hans Haglöf, at the age of 84 has been involved in the production of every backpack, is nothing more than unique.” Haglofs’ 19Fourteen collection will be available to buy from the end of October from London-based store Peggs & Son’s as well as online. Prices are set to start at £250 and reach £800.
