Clothing Inspired By Mysterious Fictional Character

East London label House of Nines has unveiled its offering for SS15, looking to the “enigmatic role of the getaway driver,” for inspiration. As a result, the designers have created a collection that includes shirts, leisurewear, tailoring and outerwear. A petrol blue shade seen on the 1965 Aston Martin DB5 leads the colour palette, which all contains black, white and beige across lightweight technical cottons, luxury suede and tropical travel wool fabrics. Continuing its ethos of reworking classics, House of Nines’ latest line includes bomber jackets, trench coats, biker jackets and non-crease travel suits, all updated with “technical design and construction” at their core. Both the lookbook and collection aims to mirror the two sides of the getaway driver character, with a “relaxed lux-leisure aspect”, shown through the outerwear and suede pieces, along with a more formal option made up by shirts and tailoring. House of Nines is currently stocked at The Allotment, Autograph Menswear, Intro Clothing and Hervia. Prices are set to range from £150 to £195 for shirts, £165 to £185 for trousers, £325 to £525 for jackets and £495 to £595 for suits.
