Designer To Debut Graphic Collection In January
River Island has named James Long as its latest menswear collaborator as part of its Design Forum initiative for SS15.
The British designer will produce a ten-piece line for the high street retailer, with initial sketches revealing a variety of casual, graphic printed pieces based around a sports luxe theme.
A nylon bomber jacket leads the range, featuring hand-drawn art from Long and gold shoulder zip detailing, allowing the sleeves to be detached to form a gilet.
The geometric print continues on to t-shirts and sweatshirts, using layered fabrics and applique to create contrast.
Loose-fitting shorts and neoprene joggers add a street style edge, with mirrored sunglasses and a neoprene rucksack completing the look.
Under its Design Forum initiative, River Island has teamed up with a host of fashion talent, including T.Lipop in 2013 and Baartmans and Siegel earlier this year.
James Long x River Island will launch at London Collections: Men in January 2015, alongside a short film directed by Menno Fokma at the British Fashion Council’s Fashion Film event. The full collection will then go on sale in February, with prices sitting between ÂŁ28 – ÂŁ90.Â
