Jude Law and Giancarlo Giannini Star In Short Film

British actor Jude Law takes the lead in a new short film by Scotch whisky brand Johnnie Walker. Under its Blue Label the firm has released a trailer for the upcoming production, titled The Gentleman’s Wager. The project, directed by Jake Scott, son of Ridley Scott, also stars Italian actor Giancarlo Giannini. It centres on two characters, played by the pair and a bet Law offers to win his yacht. Commenting on his involvement, Law says: “The film is about improvement and progress and this is something I try to do in my work and my everyday life.” Hinting at what viewers can expect, it has been revealed that the 41-year-old underwent intensive training in dance, piano and saxophone in preparation for filming. “I had to learn new skills shooting this film that combined with the places we visited and shot in, alongside working with Jake and with Giancarlo, (this) made it a truly rare experience,” added the Sherlock Holmes actor. A trailer for The Gentleman’s Wager, filmed in the British Virgin Islands and London, shows the two main characters sailing while enjoying a glass of the drink. The full film is set to be released on 30th July via the brand’s YouTube channel. Johnnie Walker Blue Label is priced at £180 for a 70cl bottle and available from stockists including Harvey Nichols and Selfridges.
