Debut Christmas Line Uses Archive Print
British label Lyle & Scott is getting into the Christmas spirit a month early with the launch of its first ever Festive collection. Made up of three knitted jumpers, the line is inspired by a snowflake motif taken from the brand’s archives. Patterns in the limited edition collection range from a large motif print to a “microscopic” design, each crafted from 100 per cent Lambswool in Scotland using a variety of knitting methods. The featured colour palette ties in with the rest of the AW14 collection, mixing navy blue, orange, raspberry and light blue. Each piece is finished with labelling and ticketing designed specifically for the line, featuring gold stitching and embossed snowflakes to capture “the festivity of the collection”. The brand’s snowflake print also featured heavily across its recent collaboration with Universal Works, which looked to the casuals subculture of the seventies for inspiration. Before releasing its joint venture with the British heritage label in September, Lyle & Scott launched a full menswear range with Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders. Lyle & Scott’s Festive collection is available now exclusively at its Carnaby Street, London, store and online, priced at £125 each.
