Ami Returns To Mr Porter

Ami creative director Alexandre Mattiussi has once again lent his talents to online retailer Mr Porter. An exclusive capsule collection, consisting of seventeen pieces, marks the third time the two brands, French and British, have teamed up. Spring sees the 2013 Andam Award winner, who received his training at Givenchy and Marc Jacobs, creating more casual pieces than in the last collaboration, which featured tuxedos. Inspired by the idea of an American in Paris, the new range features bomber jackets, sweatshirts and t-shirts. Chinos and baseball caps have also been included to round off the sporty, collegiate feel. “At Mr Porter we strive to give our customers something they cannot get anywhere else,” said Toby Bateman, Buying Director for the firm. “We have worked with Ami since the label launched in 2011 and have always appreciated Alexandre’s elegant take on modern menswear.” Mr Porter has ramped up its exclusive collaborations recently, having also revealed a line with Hentsch Man. Partially available today, the Ami x Mr Porter wares start at ÂŁ65 for a baseball cap, raising to ÂŁ180 for striped wool and cotton blend shorts, before topping off at ÂŁ425. The full collection will be rolled out May 20th on MrPorter.com.
