Sports Brand Merges Athletic Innovations

Sportswear giant Nike has combined two of its in-house technologies to produce a range of tech fleece aeroloft apparel for AW14. The menswear arm of the outdoor performance pack focuses on a hooded Windrunner jacket. It features an 800-fil goose down insulated vest for warmth and laser-cut perforations, which allows excess body heat to escape. The grey jersey jacket is reversible, allowing wearers to expose or conceal a blue padded vest. Details include bonded zippers and elastic binding on the hood and cuffs. Recently released images show American NFL player Richard Sherman, professional skateboarder Sean Malto and FC Schalke footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng wearing the item. Nike launched its first Tech Pack range in 2007 with the aim of updating staple pieces for the modern athlete. The merging of manufacturing innovations is a common move for Nike. Earlier in the month the brand unveiled a line of Roshe Flyknit trainers, bringing together its knitted footwear technology and running model. The Tech Fleece Aeroloft range is available from today online and via official Nike stockists across the UK.
