Orlebar Brown Autumn/Winter 2014
Orlebar Brown explored the jungle as the brand showed its AW14 collection at this year’s London Collections: MEN. The beach and leisurewear label held a special presentation as part of the fashion event. The team combined static displays with the use of live models shown to an audience of invited fashion press. A literal, as well as an urban, jungle provided the backdrop for the show. The tropical Brazilian setting, fused with the New York skyline, set the scene as models showed off the autumn/winter range. Shorts, t-shirts, chinos, jackets and gilets made up the collection. Dominant colours included navy, camel and green, though pops of yellow and red also featured. The jungle theme continued to patterns and prints. T-shirts and shorts played host to scenic views, the result of a collaboration with Greek artist Konstantin Kakanis. Long-standing menswear pieces were also involved in the mix: slim camel chinos, a classic white t-shirt and a simple black jacket help ground the outfits. With the season in mind, a quilted gilet was also on show, appearing in red and yellow colour ways. A selection of shoes and eyewear completed the looks. In partnership with footwear brand Sperry, Orlebar Brown has created a selection of rubber deck shoes, which are to be made available in block-colour options or with a triangular print design. The London-based brand used classic wayfarer and aviator glasses in various colours to add a stylish finishing touch. The full collection will be available later in the year.
