London Boutique Unveils Fourth Artist Collaboration
London-based retailer Other/Shop has teamed up with multidisciplinary artist Saskia Pomeroy on a limited edition collection of t-shirts. Each of the white crew neck pieces, of which only ten are available, carries one of Pomeroy’s prints such as colourful shapes and squiggle lines. The Glasgow School of Art graduate described the collaboration as “a culmination of abstract graphics and Japanese inspired paint work, exploring depth by overlaps and optical illusion”. The project is part of Other/Shop’s ongoing artist series which has previously featured Alicia Galera, Sam Griffin and Emma de Clercq. Pomeroy works across a variety of mediums, including print, ceramics and textiles. The former commercial screen printer looks at the relationship between shapes and colours, presented in a variety of abstract shapes. To celebrate the partnership an art installation is currently on display at the brand’s Soho store. Titled The Abstract Vase, it features several large ceramics in interlocking prism shapes. Matthew Murphy and Kirk Beattie founded Other/Shop in 2012. The boutique stocks several fashion labels from accessories to homeware and books, it also houses its own in store exhibition space. The Other/Shop x Saskia Pomeroy t-shirts are priced at £45 and available now at the London store and online.
