Bulletproof Phone Case Released
Proporta is providing protection for an unlikely scenario with its latest piece of technology.
A carbon fibre iPhone case, capable of withstanding shotgun fire from twenty yards, has just gone on sale.
The case is crafted from carbon fibre, which five times stronger, but two-thirds lighter, than steel. The material is often used in aerospace and motor racing.
Proporta put its own claims to the test, taking the case and firing at it from forty yards. After each successful round, the kit was moved five yards closer.
The Apple iPhone 5 and 5S accessory has been created by the online retailer, which is known for selling cases and other tech add ons.
Lynnette Prigmore, Proporta’s Head of Product, said: “Whereas the term ‘let’s shoot this case’ once meant calling our photographer in for a product shoot, this has more recently taken on a whole new meaning,”
The case is rendered in soft sheepskin leather with a micro-fibre lining that can be used as a stand for watching video clips.
The super soft interior will keep the screen scratch free, while the outer layer could go as far as saving a life.
“We’ve been lining our trademarked leather cases with aircraft-grade aluminium for many years and have identified an increasing popularity in our customers’ need for screen protection, hence an expansion for this category,” added Prigmore.
The case is available in black or white, costing £44.95 from Proporta.co.uk.
