Outerwear Inventors To Expand For SS15
Puffa, the British brand behind the iconic padded jacket of the nineties, is set to expand its offering beyond outwear for the first time.
T-shirts, polo shirts and sweatshirts have been confirmed to feature alongside cagoules, macs and lightweight jackets for SS15, each drawing inspiration from the brand’s sporting heritage.
Early preview images reveal a nautical theme, with fisherman-style jackets and lightweight outerwear in yellow, navy and green colour ways. Technical features include removable sleeves, drawcord hoods and foldaway pac-a-mac styles.
The full line was unveiled in Berlin in July, to coincide with the German capital’s fashion week.
Puffa design and brand consultant, Will Rigg, spoke of what buyers can expect from the new range: “From supporting the first-ever transatlantic hot-air-balloon flight to sponsoring Formula 1 and the British Admiral’s Cup, Puffa has always been about speed, versatility and activity.”
“Flexibility and movement are also key fashion trends… and the new collection embraces this, whilst referencing the brand’s unique sporting heritage with its retro designs and shapes,” he added.
Founded in 1973, label became known for its practical outwear. The word Puffa was later added to the Oxford English Dictionary, having become synonymous with the thick jacket style.
The full SS15 collection will be available to buy online next year as well as via other stockists yet to be announced. Prices are set to range from £25 for t-shirts to £150 for jackets.
