Rapha Spring/Summer 2014 Lookbook
Cycling brand Rapha has used the backdrop of Barcelona for its spring/summer 2014 lookbook. The City collection indicates a change of direction for the athletic clothing line as it expands into casual wear.
Traditional riding garments appear alongside classic wardrobe pieces such as button-down shirts. In images, the same items transition from ride to roadside, highlighting their adaptability and versatile nature.
The concept also includes lightweight jackets, slim-fitting shorts, polos and vests in summer colours; blue, heather grey, white and orange. A number of accessories round off the range and ensures the approach remains functional.
Semi-tailoring is also on offer, with a lapelled sports jacket using Elastane and twin shoulder vents to maximise reach on the bike and a deliver a deconstructed look off.
All feature modern construction and performance fabrics appropriate for cycling, such as quick-drying synthetic cotton.
Rapha’s SS14 collection is already in stores, which can be found worldwide. The Rapha London Cycling Club location not only carries the latest styles but also operates as a cafe, location to watch race screenings and meeting spot for enthusiasts.
Following the recent launch of the lookbook, the branch announced its partnership with Broughton Hall Estate. The two companies will work together for a weekend road cycling event in Yorkshire, occurring simultaneously with the Tour de France Grand Départ 2014 in Leeds. From July 3rd to 6th, spectators can watch cyclists pass through Yorkshire Dales en route to the finish line.
Prices for clothing within the City collection currently range from £40 for t-shirts to £400 for a limited edition insulated jacket made in partnership with Christopher Raeburn.
