Realm & Empire Mark 70th Anniversary Of D-Day

War-inspired clothing label Realm & Empire is marking the 70th anniversary of D-Day with a range of limited edition men’s t-shirts. The British brand has used its ongoing licensing deal with the Imperial War Museum (IWM) to pull together archive material from The Normandy Landings, which took place on 6th June 1944. References to the five main landing beaches are made across the eleven-piece line, as well as the code-name given to the invasion. Realm & Empire’s Brand Director, Richard Robinson, said: “With the main focus of our AW14 collection on The Great War, we thought it was important to mark the anniversary of the D-Day Landings with specific references to the Allied effort.” The brand has previously used images of World War II Prime Minister Winston Churchill and popular conflict slogans such as ‘The Wolf is at the door, don’t waste bread’. It also shoots its main collection on location at IWM sites, such as the Churchill War Rooms, Battle of Britain fighter station and HMS Belfast. In addition to the t-shirts, the brand, founded in 2011, manufactures 100 per cent British-made Merino wool sweaters, waxed cotton jackets, trousers and accessories. All eleven t-shirts in the D-Day collection are available for pre-order online, priced at £35. The brand has confirmed shipping will begin 19th May.
