Reebok Celebrate Anniversary With 27 New Styles
Reebok’s iconic Instapump Fury OG has made a return, marking the twentieth anniversary of the trainer.
Bosses at the British firm have also set the tongues of trainer heads wagging by announcing fans can expect a range of collaborative takes on the archive model throughout the year.
The conceptual design of the 1990s staple has recently seen a resurgence in popularity. As a result, the brand, which operates under German-owned giant adidas, plans to build on its existing SS14 collection. This will involve releasing 27 unique versions of the Instapump Fury.
First unleashed on the market in 1994, the architectural style was Reebok’s pioneering attempt at establishing unrivalled fit by using an internal inflation mechanism.
In addition, the Bolton brand’s innovation was one of the first to utilise both Graphlite and Hexalite constructions.
However, it was the shoe’s patented Instapump technology that caught on, with the Fury OG noted for giving way to a line of pump trainers.
The new era of the Reebok Pumps line has kicked off with a like-for-like reissue of its very first release, the OG.
Boasting the original black, red and hyper-green colour way, the model features a plush inner sleeve, along with an air-filled overlay. As expected, this is joined by Reebok’s standard-issue, propriety series of inflatable chambers, designed to ensure a snug fit.
The Fury OG is already available at all UK stores belonging to the Reebok Certified Network. The special reissue will also be on offer at all Reebok Reserve retailers and Reebok.co.uk, retailing from £130.
No date has been given yet for the follow-up styles, however they are likely to be announced via the brand’s twitter – @Reebok.
