Lookbook & Exclusive Behind The Scenes Clip
River Island will today unveil the result of collaborating with emerging talents Baartmans & Siegel.
The high street store has partnered with the Dutch-English design duo as part of London Collections: Men.
A 12-piece capsule collection produced by the pair, first announced in April, is the latest addition to the brand’s Design Forum initiative.
FashionBeans has been given exclusive access to a behind the scenes video of a short film created for the project, directed by Ryan Hopkinson.
The full clip will be unveiled tonight at the Institute of Contemporary Arts as part of the BFC’s Fashion Film programme, before being made available on the River Island website from tomorrow.
Hopkinson, stylist and Fashion Director Catherine Hayward, Wouter Baartmans and Amber Siegel are all featured discussing the venture.
At the time of the initial announcement only sketches were available for reference. Though in a joint interview Baartmans and Siegel told FashionBeans the line would reflect their own in-house collections.
River Island has since made full lookbook images public, which make use of artistic and abstract photography including heavy shadows and distorted effects.
Clothing is visible in a palette of grey, black and navy, with outerwear dominant. Outfits on show include a charcoal overcoat paired with a white granddad collar shirt. Among the more luxe pieces on offer is a navy suede jacket with gold zip details.
The full collection will be available from River Island stores and online from September. Prices will start at £20 for gloves, with the most expensive piece being the suede jacket at £160.
