Supreme x Brooks Brothers
Supreme narrowly avoided a repeat of its Nike Air Foamposite One trainer launch this week by finally confirming a deal with Brooks Brothers.
Anxious fans have been teased throughout April, with leaked images of a rumoured project surfacing online, in magazines – later discovered to be Man About Town – and on the Instagram account of one of the store’s managers.
In the days after the leak, the serial collaborators went on record to say the label has created a suit with America’s oldest men’s clothier, Brooks Brothers. A two-piece seersucker rework of Supreme’s Fitzgerald silhouette was released this week.
A blue and white colour scheme is carried across the model, as well as a matching bucket hat. Black and white stars line the inside of both pieces, along with the logos of each brand, which also appear on the outside cuff.
Bosses were keen to keep the release under wraps. An earlier Nike partnership had to be shut down in New York following riots to secure the limit stock. However, the event went ahead as planned in London, LA and Tokyo.
Supreme has previously worked with the likes of The North Face, while 200-year-old Brooks Brothers took on projects with Red-Wing and Ray-Ban. Both have been associated with Comme des Garçons on separate lines in the past.
The Supreme x Brooks Brothers seersucker suit is on sale now, priced at £449. It is available, along with the hat (£58), in stores across London, New York and Los Angeles and online. A Japan release is scheduled to follow on May 3rd.
