LA Brand Launches Collection Inspired By Unrest
Riots and rebellion are at the centre of the AW14 lookbook for LA-based label The Hundreds, matched with a collection inspired by a similar theme.
The brand enlisted photographer Jovell Rennie to shoot the range in Anchorage, Alaska, showcasing layered looks in earthy tones of brown, khaki, grey and blue.
For the colder months, the focus is on shirts, padded outerwear, jersey hoodies and knitted accessories such as gloves, snoods and hats, paired with casual pocket trousers and branded jumpers.
Speaking about the brand and its latest collection, founder Bobby Kim said: “It acknowledges the fashion aesthetic of social change from punk to politics to protests.”
“The Hundreds was established as a response – to convention, to rules and industry paradigms. As a couple of kids who built something out of nothing, we’ve proudly bore the flag of the independents and the counterculture,” he added.
