US Label Joins Forces With Online Retailer
Menswear e-tailer Mr Porter has added to its roster of designer collaborations, by teaming up with American label Thom Browne on a collection for AW14. The nine-piece line comprises a mix of casual and formal menswear pieces, including trousers, jackets, shirts, knitwear and a sweatshirt as well as shoes and accessories. Each item is produced in a palette of grey, using contrasting materials and textures to create a panelled effect. The herringbone overcoat is crafted from split-colour wool and tweed, finished with a white felt under collar, with the slim-fit trousers, neck tie and suit jacket coming in the same fabric. Meanwhile, the button-down check shirt is made from soft cotton and the sweatshirt comes in a jersey-like wool. A mohair-wool blend cardigan finishes the collection, along with a knitted beanie hat and a pair of Derby boots made from panelled herringbone tweed. The range mirrors Browne’s mainline AW14 collection, which also used varying shades of grey to create a contrasting panelled effect. Thom Browne x Mr Porter is available now exclusively online, with pieces priced from £135 for accessories, £340 for clothing, £875 for the boots, £1,225 for tailoring and £1,535 for the overcoat.
