Tiger of Sweden Spring/Summer 2015
Tiger of Sweden was one of a handful of brands which made its London Collections: Men debut at the recent round of shows. The label presented its SS15 menswear line during day three of the bi-annual event, alongside fellow newcomers DKNY, Moschino and Nicholas Kirkwood. A runway show at The Old Sorting Office took inspiration from cult American movie The Warriors. The 1979 feature by director Walter Hill looked at the gang scene of New York City. The brand created its own ‘Tiger Gang’, with looks that mirrored the film’s portrayal of the gangster lifestyle. Main colours referenced the night, with blacks, charcoals and greys used on basics and outerwear. Alongside the brand’s signature slim-cut suits was also a new shape, featuring an oversized and elongated design. Models walked individually as well as in groups down a concrete runway. Those taking part included British talents Harvey James and Jourdan Copeland, the face of Calvin Klein’s CK One Red campaign. On the decision to leave Stockholm Fashion Week, Tiger of Sweden CEO David Thunmarker said: “Since re-entering the UK market over three years ago, London has become a second home for Tiger.” “We love the city for its energy, creativity and its rich fashion heritage. We are proud to become a part of the LCM story,” he added. The SS15 collection will be available to shop from December at Tiger of Sweden stores and online at tigerofsweden.com.
