UK Store Part Of Fashion Chain’s Retail Growth
Branded fashion chain Urban Outfitters has opened its latest store in Leicester as bosses push forward with retail growth in UK, European and international markets. The new 11,600sq ft outlet, situated in the Highcross Shopping Centre, stocks own label and external collections across clothing, accessories, footwear and home and media from the likes of Obey, Dr Denim, adidas and Native Rose. The American retailer took over the former USC store in February after the chain relocated elsewhere in the mall. The interior now features reclaimed materials and contemporary art in a bid to become “a habitat for trend setters”. On the decision to open in the East Midlands city, senior menswear buyer Kris Babet said: “The Leicester customer is highly informed on fashion trends and is a smart man’s man. I see Farah, Fred Perry and Suit being really strong on the tops side of things. The more menswear heritage casual labels seem to suit the down-to-earth nature of our Leicester lad.” Babet picked out knitwear, sportswear, leather jackets and loose-leg trousers as key items for the upcoming season and revealed several new additions to the business’s line up. The AW14 season will see Danish lifestyle label Wood Wood welcomed into the fold alongside exclusives and collaborations from the likes of Cheap Monday, Farah, Fred Perry, Blood Brother, Carhartt,
