Footballing Legend Named Face Of SS15 Campaign

Mango has announced that a different kind of model will take centre stage in its spring/summer 2015 campaign. Former French footballer Zinedine Zidane has been named as the face of its Man collection for the upcoming season.

The sporting legend and current coach of Real Madrid Castilla will feature in the label’s upcoming advertising material, captured by acclaimed photographer Boo George, who has also recently shot Calvin Harris for Armani.

Zidane will replace Marck Vanderloo and Clement Chabernaud, who currently star in the autumn/winter 2014 campaign and follow in the footsteps of fellow sporting talent Gerard Piqué.

Speaking about his new appointment, Zidane said: “MANGO is a great prêt-à-porter brand. It is great to be able to dress elegantly at an affordable price, especially for men.

“People may say they often associate me with luxury brands or wearing Italian suits, but this is not incompatible, quite the opposite, I love variety.”

The football coach will be pictured wearing the Spanish brand’s spring/summer 2015 collection, including geometric and floral printed pieces, bomber and biker jackets and a variety of tailored garments.

An initial preview shows Zidane modelling casual shirting with a textured tie and formal jacket (below) and we can’t wait to see what the rest of his Mango debut holds.
