Dressing For Downtime

Milan’s most decadent fashion duo, Dolce & Gabbana, sealed their authority on luxury leisurewear this week with an ode to fancy pyjamas. For their autumn/winter 2015 collection, shown at Milan Fashion Week, the Italian duo spared no expense when it came to sending models down the runway in a finely-tuned selection of silk robes, loose flowing trousers and the brand’s signature slipper/loafer hybrid (basically an expensive slipper with a tassel on). On the lighter end of the scale, they also included some comfortable looking sweatshirts and slimline joggers that seemed far more agreeable with our own everyday wardrobes. The look and feel of the collection might be a bit ‘luxe’ for some, but it’s certainly a reminder that comfort doesn’t have to mean slovenly hiding away in an old hoodie. With that very thought in mind, we’ve decided to run through five items that are ideal for kicking back in this year…

2. The Topman ‘Fashion Joggers’

By now you should know that just because sweatpants are on-trend, it doesn’t mean you have to traipse through your local JD Sports. Topman have dedicated an entire section of its online webstore to ‘fashion joggers’. This basically means track pants that look just as good running day-to-day errands in, as they do when you’re horizontal on the sofa. Priced from £28, at Topman.com.

3. The Whistles Sweatshirt

We’d be quite happy to luxuriate in anything from Whistles, but since their first foray into menswear last year, they’ve mastered sweatshirts particularly well. Printed or plain, each one is constructed to the highest standard, cut for a comfortable fit and completely on-trend. Indigo Sweatshirt, priced £110 at Whistles.
