Ever wanted to welcome Alexander Wang into your home? Now that the American fashion talent has turned his hand to furniture design, it might just be possible. Wang has teamed up with Italian label Poltrouna Frau to produce a three-piece furniture collection, injecting his signature dose of streetwear cool into the project. First up, we’re presented with a black shearling beanbag chair set on nine brass legs, which looks as comfortable as it does luxurious, accompanied by a second version in smooth black leather. A luggage-style bar cabinet rounds off the collection, lined with brass shelving and coming on its own set of wheels. While Balenciaga’s current Creative Director said he aimed to “recontextualise what is banal, what is luxurious” in the collection, his simple and slick designs come at a price – the beanbag chairs are available for £5300 each and the bar costs a cool £12,270 at the current exchange rate. The Alexander Wang furniture collection is set to be available from February in select stores.
