Tennis Shoe Reissued With Premium Makeover

Le Coq Sportif, a brand that held its popularity during the sportswear movement of the nineties, has returned with a high-end update of its iconic Arthur Ashe trainer.

Coming in a monochrome white with just a hint of colour on the tongue, sole and lining, the new release is crafted from full grain leather directly from the brand’s French homeland, making it part of its ‘Made in France’ collection.

The premium feel continues to the packaging, with each pair presented in a numbered and stamped wooden box, complete with wooden shoe trees, a tin of leather cream and a buffing cloth.

Although originally discontinued in the 1980s after a twenty-year run, the trainer named after tennis star Arthur Ashe saw its return to fashion in the early 2010s.

If the recent reissue of this model doesn’t tease the senses of sneakerheads, the fact that only 136 limited edition pairs will be available to buy is sure to have an effect.

They are available to buy now at FootpatrolHanon and Sneaks ‘n’ Stuff, priced at £165.
