Short Film Marks Milestone Event

Turnbull & Asser is set to mark a major milestone this year – its 130th anniversary – and is celebrating the momentous occasion with a series of short films, showcasing its continued dedication to quality craftsmanship. With a royal warrant under its belt, the British label continues to turn out the best in men’s tailoring, with one of its most famous pieces being the most gentlemanly of accessories: the tie. The brand’s latest short film explores the process that goes into producing each of its hand-made ties, including delving into the background of Turnbull & Asser employee and expert tie maker Stuart Hamilton, also known as ‘The Tie Man’. From crafting pieces for Heath Ledger in Batman: The Dark Knight to teaming up with the James Bond franchise, Hamilton unveils the stories behind some of Turnbull & Asser’s most iconic designs. The new clip, titled 130 Years: The Tie, follows on from recent news that the label is set to expand its Gloucester work rooms, upping its production capabilities to around 70,000 shirts per year and increasing its workforce to 101 people.
