British heritage brand Baracuta is well known for turning out jackets worn by mods and scooter boys both old and new; first with its iconic G9 model and later with the G4. However, if we started talking about the D4, you might think we’d slipped a few spaces down the keyboard by accident. Far from the case, Baracuta has partnered with historic Italian motorcycle brand Dainese, which made its name manufacturing high-tech riding gear. The pair have come up with a way of fusing their expertise, by adding protective shoulder and elbow elements to the classic G4 style. The detachable pads, flanked by defence in the spine, are printed on Baracuta’s Fraser tartan to match the jacket’s lining. Add to that waterproof and breathable fabric in black along with heat taped seams and you’re pretty much ready to ride out in style. The Barcuta D4 Dainese is available now at Barcuta’s Newburgh Street store in London and online, priced £325.
