In the world of sneakerheads, the rumour mill never stops churning. Speculation around updated colorways, re-issued classics and sports star collaborations is as old as the hills, or more specifically, the internet. But this one has got us seriously excited. The word spreading is that Adidas is planning to add Boost sole technology, already seen on models like the NMD, to its best-selling Stan Smith tennis shoe. If the chit-chat is true (and we hope it is), the result would be the latest update for the model, which has already been treated to Primeknit uppers and a dunk in 24-karat gold. Some are placing bets that the even comfier fashion sneaker may also drop at the same time as a Boost-cushioned Superstar around February 2017 and one person has even gone as far as creating a mock-up of what the Stan Smith Boosts might look like. There’s no official word from Adidas on whether these will ever see the light of day, so it could turn out to be nothing more than a case of Photoshopping that got out of hand. Which would be cruel. Just cruel. In other words, stay tuned. adidas-stan-smith-boost-tech-upgrade-101
