Long before this season’s explosion in laceless sneakers, there was the Nike Air Moc. Released in 1994, the trainer was an ode to comfort, bolting a snuggly upper to a sports-ready sole for a shoe that looked like an Ugg Boot got busy with a baked potato. Let’s call it an acquired taste.

Well, call the comfort crew because now the style’s making an unexpected comeback, this time done up in Nike’s foot-swaddling Tech Fleece. It’s not the easiest wear, we’ll admit. But toss them on with a cuffed jogger (and cojones┬álike cannonballs) and you’ve got your dad’s favourite way to flex on the squad.

The NikeLab Air Moc Tech Fleece is available from 4 March, priced £115
