River Island thinks it has a pretty good idea, so the high street heavyweight has used its savvy to debut a brand new line of unanimously cool menswear classics that have stood the test of time. Launching 12 September, the 38-piece Style Staples range is made up of premium essentials including an Oxford shirt, blue jeans and single-breasted overcoat, along with shoes, hats and belts. Designed to serve as a one-stop-shop for contemporary, clean dressing, the pieces have all been made from high quality fabrics like soft waffle cotton and luxe brushed wool. To show the edit is capable of forming the foundations of any look while still passing the pub test (and not just on price), the essentials have been shot on ‘real’ guys – from builder Phillip Zecivic and rapper Mikill Pane, to bloggers Gallucks and Mikko.
