Yohji Yamamoto has been making sneakerheads’ hearts swell since 2003. And, judging by his latest lovechild with adidas, it’s time to grab the defibrillator – the much-hyped Y-3 Qasa now comes in a new grey-on-grey colourway. Many hypebeasts claim the Y-3 Qasa is the best trainer of the last decade, with its spaceship silhouette, comfortable sock upper and instantly recognisable elasticated straps that spawned a glut of copycat high street styles. But, until today, the colourways split opinion. The all-black was too aggressive. The all-white demanded obsessive dedication to weather forecasts. The multicolour was – well, it was multicoloured. Yet this new iteration, dubbed the Vista Grey, is a tonal take that offers the perfect balance: softer without sacrificing punch; wearable even when the sky’s not blue; the kind of tech-led construction you could wear on the court but never, ever would. Get in the queue now if you want any chance of getting your hands on a pair. Available soon from END Clothing, priced £259.
