Over the years, mankind has dabbled in all sorts of leather jackets: Hell’s Angel bikers, sky-high sherpas and tasselled numbers best left to a Dolly Parton backing dancer. So if you like your history with a little more hide, Belstaff’s soon-to-be-opened archive is just the ticket.

Spanning 93 years, the archive is a collection of over 150 pieces that showcase Belstaff’s roots, from 1930s flying suits to WWII paraphernalia and 1960s Scooterjack jackets. Basically, they’ve got more storied leather than any Fifty Shades book.

If you can’t wait to see the full exhibition later this year, a small section will be opened to coincide with London Fashion Week this weekend at Belstaff’s London flagship on New Bond Street, with a specially selected curation of vintage pieces available to buy.
