Who: Idris Elba
Where: V Festival
Two crutches and Idris Elba still sprints (well, limps) into our best-dressed list. The actor and DJ went for The Business in a striped twin set courtesy of Kappa, but swerved the Danny Dyer vibe with an unusual merlot and navy stripe throughout. Break a leg alright.
Who: Eric Rutherford
Where: New York
An all-navy look could be boring, but not on Rutherford. The model uses the staple colour to tie together a 50s-style pyjama shirt and
Who: Craig David
Where: V Festival 2017
Craig David all over your… best-dressed men feed? It seems the unlikeliest comeback of recent years was also raising his style game at this year’s V Festival. Bo’ Selecta’s biggest victim opted for a foolproof piece – the worker jacket – in a bright red shade, stifling 999 calls with monochrome below.
Who: Ansel Elgort
Where: Haneda International Airport, Tokyo
Baby Driver is no toddler in the wardrobe stakes. Via a Tokyo terminal, Ansel Elgort steered in-flight style to the premium cabin, this time with a barely-there LV print to the tracksuit bottoms and a colour pop backpack. All grown up.
Who: Pedro Pascal
Where: Narcos Screening, New York
A Narcos event and not a Cuban collar in sight? Well, colour us surprised. At a recent New York screening, Pedro Pascal – the actor behind beleaguered DEA agent Javier Peña – cut texture a plenty with a two-piece flecked with grade-A microprints.
Who: Jon Kortajarena
Where: Majorca, Spain
Just in case you didn’t recognise Jon Kortajarena’s glass-cutting cheekbones, he’s the second left. And the best-dressed. At a wedding in Majorca’s bougiest corner, the Versace posterboy made all-white alright – simple, loose-fitting cotton shirt that counters a creamier shade below. The jawline is hard to copy though.
Who: Brad Goreski
Where: Chateau Marmont, LA
Now, it’s kind of a celebrity stylist’s job to look good. But Brad Goreski – Vogue staffer turned Hollywood dresser – is a cut above the usual in a tricky outfit made easy. A pink blazer is by no means the everyman’s choice, but white up-top and below cajoles a difficult shade into wearable territory.
Who: Jon Hamm
Where: Marjorie Prime Premiere, New York
The Mad Men days are over, but Jon Hamm is still to park the Don Draper playbook. And why would he? The 46-year-old dropped some prime Sterling Cooper workwear at a recent premiere, with a faint check throughout lifting a glove-like fit.
