Alexander Wang is a designer rooted in sportswear, so a hook-up with Adidas Originals makes perfect sense. Instead of a runway filled with black sheer fabric and abstract, knee-length bombers however, the collab has once again decided to focus on something a touch more wearable: trainers.
After presenting the Season 2 line-up just last month, the Hike Lo model – a standout from the preview – has been scheduled to drop this week. With a focus on technical functionality, the tread draws on the Gazelle, with a panelled suede upper and signature Three Stripes branding. Plus, taking cue from the AW Skate and AW Run, the Hike Lo boasts a full-length BOOST midsole and perforated outsole for added grip and comfort.
Available in two fluoro colourways, each model dials down the Vegas neons by compacting each tread with simple black and white – a sharp way of injecting colour without going full sneaker peacock. And who said designers were out of touch?
Available from August 5 at select Adidas stores, price TBC.
