The Official "I Am Going To A Wedding" Thread

I've noticed a lot of chat goes around on here with regards to wedding attire. It occurred to me that if it was all in one place, eventually it could become a great reference tool for those attending such events, and could provide valuable inspiration for those difficult times when bells are ringing but you have nothing to wear.

So, I'm off to a wedding reception this weekend. It's a friend and work colleague, young cool people so not overly stuffy. Still, I have assembled an outfit and feel like a second, third, fourth opinion would be useful. Here it is:

    Holland Esq Jacket
    Reiss Pocket Square
    Primark Tie
    Topman Shirt
    D&G Trousers
    Botticelli loafers

What do you guys think? Is the jacket ok with the trousers, or is there not enough contrast?

Thanks in advance, FaBe man dem

Looks great as it is. I would personally go for some more striking trousers, depends on how "cool" these people are aha. Red/burgundy is always a winner with grey. But hey, it is a wedding, maybe a more neutral tone is better.

    Loafers are nice, how much?

Loafers are vintage 70s and were 30 from eBay. Looked like they had been worn once, the sole was hardly even marked. Love them.

I did consider some wild trousers but I'm liking the grey/blue tones a lot and I don't know if coloured trousers are right for this wedding... My boss will be there lol

Looks dapper as fuck. This look is right up my street.. I'm not normally a fan of contrast collars, but everything here works.

No changes needed, looks great - I have the pocket square to match your tie. 2 a go.. you're damn right i bought 5 of them in different colours.

Ok, this is a terrible picture that I took the other week - I am without a full length mirror, so this is the best angle I could come up with. I'm sure you get the idea anyway.

To keep things in the same format:
    Next suit jacket
    Reiss Tie
    Reiss Shirt
    Primark Pocket Square
    Zara Chino's
    Ted Baker brogues

^That's wicked mate, love the pocket square & the shirt. The burgundy blazer is fly too, I really want a burgundy suit!

It's not a contrast collar on the shirt btw, just a trick of the light. It's just a pale blue shirt with a cut-away collar.

I was tempted by the burgundy suit in NEXT. Not sure when I'd get a chance to wear it though. Might get the blazer as a seperate though. What's the fit like?

    Look's tidy by the way.

For 64 I think its an absolute bargain. Mine is a 40 reg, and fits perfect at the waist and sleeves (I'm 6'3). It's a slim fit, but runs slightly broader at the shoulders than the Reiss version which I'd tried earlier. (Incidentally, the "grape" promenade blazer at Reiss has just ben reduced to 134 from 195). I'd check them out at your local Next, just to see for yourself.

Next have a candy green and candy blue blazer in the same range - I'm very tempted by the blue, but I'm away all summer, so it's probably wasted in late Autumn/Winter when I get back

Great thread here boys, both of your outfits are looking very strong.

Pin Money I think you have it spot on for the event you've described, seems like the perfect summer smarter option to me.

As for that burgundy blazer Brown, well I think I'm going to have to pop into next on my next shopping venture, fit looks great.

Gutted, went to get the burgundy jacket today and not one single Next in the country has it in a 46R, so I phoned them up and they said they won't be getting any more into stock either...

They do the same jacket in blue, what colour chinos would go with it? along with a pair of brown brogues?
