What To Wear With A Pink Shirt?

I've recently bought my first pink shirt, an oxford from GAP, and I'm suffering a serious bout of insecurity.

It's strange, I'm no stranger to white trousers, vibrant pocket squares and statement blazers, but I'm slightly worried about making this step. There seems to be such a homophobic stigma about pink shirts.

Anyway, need tips on how to wear it. It looks great on it's own, with some slim indigo jeans and brogues, and looks quite good with a slim navy blazer. Any ideas on how I could 'man it up' a little bit?

Grey jeans & a blue denim jacket with a pink shirt is an outfit I have rocked a few times.

Also works great with a navy blazer instead of the jacket.

Oh! Also a burgundy chunky cardigan and black jeans.

Meh, ignore the arseholes who take the piss. Just rock it with confidence. I wear pink shirts every week, both in work and casually, and often get compliments.

In terms of what to wear it with, pink and grey go together like a dream. How about topping off your dark jeans and pink shirt with a grey tweed blazer. Some brogue boots, and that's a pretty solid A/W look imo. For S/S it goes great with chinos too. And a thin dark grey or chocolate cardigan or v neck in the evening.

Pins, doesn't the pink look a bit clashy with the burgundy cardigan? Haven't seen it done in the flesh, but when I visualise it, it feels like it wouldn't quite work.

Great suggestions thanks guys. I own a lot of the items you guys came up with (definately giving the grey tweed blazer and jeans a go when it gets cold enough).

Haha, whilst I don't "know" people on this forum, you (Nath) are one of maybe 4 people I would not expect to make this thread!!

My first thought was indigo jeans, brown shoes, or navy or charcoal blazer.

I work in a professional environment, and a LOT of us rock pink shirts - guys of all ages. I honestly think the pink shirt is well and truly off the faux pas list, and in an office environment (at least) its a staple.

My only concern in a casual setting is what I'd wear it with.. its just not a diverse enough colour in my opinion

It's a great combo imo! I like wearing almost-clashy colours though. I have been known to wear my burgundy jeans with my rust jacket too, and my orange cable knit with pink shorts. It's good to be creative with colours!

Aha, I know it was a shock to me too! It's the first time I've had doubts about buying something for ages.

I think you're right that it tends to create quite a formal aesthetic when paired with any kind of blazer or sportsjacket. I might have to reserve that look for an evening by the harbourside down in Bristol.

Pink looks awesome with navy. Pair a pink shirt, tucked in, with a pair of skinny navy chinos (rolled) and tan brogues. My pink shirt is patterned, and I think this ironically mans it up a bit as it fits in with current trends, and has colours like white and light blue on it that compliment the pink and help distract from it's boldness, making it more of a statement piece rather than a single block of a potentially garish colour, and it goes great with most items in my wardrobe.
