I read an article where there was a picture of a dude wearing a Fred Perry polo tucked into suit trousers and it looked rather sharp; but would anyone consider wearing it in a casual setting? Or do you try to avoid the negative stereotype that comes with it?

Might be a bit tryhard for casual, I think tucking in should be reserved for smart casual use

    You want to avoid this

With a low rise pair of bottoms, I think it can work. Just lose the belt and make sure it's fitted.

Yay, but as J8x says, lose the belt and make sure the polo is properly fitted. It won't work with jeans, tailored trousers or smart chinos only really.

What's wrong with a belt? I have a leather braided belt from Masimo duti, and I think it looks great with a tucked in polo and a slim/skinny pair of jeans or chinos.

It's all about the fit and the confidence.

If it looks good to you then it looks good, all rules can be broken

For me personally, tucking in a polo on any occasion is a no-no. I can already see the new balance trainers and phone holder on the belt.

I'd need pictures to convince me tbh

On the golf course it's okay IMO
