    I don't care for very dark shirts paired with ties personally. I think that light coloured shirts will always look better.

    The knot looks fine. The type of knot you choose is pretty personal. Is it a half windsor? The only potential criticism is that the shirt collar is a small one and the knot extends beyond it. You may wish to consider a four in hand knot that is likely to give a knot that matches more closely with the collar size. That said, what really counts is the overall impression and for that you need to see if it is something that looks out of place when viewed as a whole, not in close up which exagerates these things.

    Honestly, it looks a bit off. Black shirt generally embraces red coloured ties well, but that tie is too bright and rosary. Also, the shirt seems to be causual, while the tie seems very formal. However, it will not be so bad if you wear all black suit, then your tie can be a focal point.
