    Fancy neckwear

    Hi all,

I'm at an awards do with work at the end of the month and am after a fancy bit of neckwear. I'm going to be wearing a dark grey wool suit and more than likely a white shirt but want to add colour and flair with the neckwear and pocket square.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Open to all kinds not just normal ties

    Thanks

That had been a thought . Would you reckon a burgundy pocket square as well or keep it simple with white?

trie a white or a burgundy pocket square in a different fabric, with maybe a white polka dot or a nice pattern, maybe including some navy or so...

The only thing with Navy is my suit has a black trim so don't know if it will clash. I'll post some images I find.

maybe avoid the navy then, just give some things a go. white will always work.

So I've decided to go with a burgundy knitted tie I already have and keep it simple with a white pocket square. Going to buy a new tie pin/cufflink set as well to sharpen it up a bit.

Been toying with the idea of a boutonnière or an evening scarf. Would this be overkill or a good statement piece?

I wouldn't do them if you're wearing a tie pin as well, but if it's just the burgundy tie & plain white pocket square then I reckon you could get away with adding one. Patterned silk scarf (polka, paisley) with a navy ground maybe?

My bad. Just realised I said tie pin. Meant tie bar but a pin could be a good idea!
