    February Wedding

I've received an invite to my cousins wedding in Northumberland and I'm having ideas for a winter wedding outfit. While I would love tweed (season appropriate) I can't afford to by a new suit so I will be wearing my charcoal grey one. I was thinking of wearing a knitted tie as a nod to the season (maybe in trending emerald), is a knitted tie considered too casual for a church wedding service?
    Why be boring?

Sorry to hijack the thread, only I'm having my son christened in February and was thinking the same thing - knitted emerald green tie.
I suppose a christening is less formal than a wedding though.
I'm very interested to see some responses here!!

I can't see why a knitted tie would be regarded as less formal than a tweed suit, personally.

You could always go for a woven woollen tie, however, if you are worried.
