    Store Reviews & Couriers

Seeing as the majority of our purchases are seemingly from online shopping, can we hear some big-ups?
And some down right nasty stories which we can bear in mind before "Proceed to Payment"..

    House of Fraser:
Was browsing and noticed that Next Day Delivery includes Sunday for just 6. As in.. I can order at 18:50 saturday night and it will be with me next day. When the heck did this start happening?? Are the days of ordering on Friday and waiting until Tuesday long gone?

    Zalando:
Its the site that always turns up in the google results. I was skeptical at first, with no express shipping option and the ever unreliable Hermes on board. Yet I was pleasantly surprised. 7 off the rrp of a pair of Adidas Flux's which I ordered on Thursday evening and arrived on Monday. Free delivery and free returns also.

    Size?:
    Not great.
Will only double box their trainers when they feel like it. Also on two occassions there has been no stock update so I end up getting an email a day later with a paypal refund. But at least I was notified i guess.

I know theres probably a few too many pinned threads already but an online database of stores could be really helpful if compiled well. With a bit of a blurb and categorisation I'm sure a lot of people would find it useful, would maybe take quite a bit of work though.

I had never heard of Zee & Co but recently ordered form them. They were great.

Smartbuyglasses also have awesome service - although the first pair of Persols they sent me had a manufacturer's defect which was bloody annoying. They gave me a 5% refund to make me feel better and it worked

On the subject of couriers can I just say that I FUCKING HATE DPD. They have been a nightmare on virtually every encounter I've ever had with them.

This thread is already messy. You're welcome Perhaps if someone types a store in the search bar they might be directed here.

Seriously? I think they're the best ones at the mo. Can't complain about that live tracking service and endless text/email updates. The only problem I have with them is the actual driver. I'm starting to see him a bit too often now and he's getting personal. I just don't feel like socialising sometimes when I'm chilling at home. But that's a pathetic negative really.

Using DHL with Mr Porter isn't bad either. I set up the collection online and they'd turn up after 5 mins. "I was in the area"

I've never had any problems with couriers at all - all my stuff gets delivered by either DPD or DHL.

The best online service I get is from Zara. They charge 3.95 for delivery & the price includes the courier picking up returns. I've paid 10 for their express delivery but stopped doing that as their standard delivery is almost as quick. By far the quickest online retailer I've used for processing refunds.

Asos are a close second. Everything delivered in shitty plastic bags, but they're fast at delivery & refunds. No delivery charge & they operate a pick-up service from local shops for a few quid.

Mr.Porter win the best presentation award. Nice boxes with ribbons on them. Just what every man dreams of . Only used them for the first time recently when they'd a free delivery & returns offer on. Was very impressed.

All Saints. Free delivery, no pick-up of returns so I've to post the stuff back. Quick enough on deliveries & refunds. The stuff is delivered in decent, sturdy, manly boxes with no ribbons. Great customer service too.

Kooples are pretty tardy on deliveries. Have ordered twice from them now and they took over a week to get here. Free delivery, no pick-up of returns though, but they refund pretty quickly. Very slow at answering customer queries.

COS - by far the slowest at both delivery & refunds. They took over a month to refund the last return which is an absurd amount of time by any standards.

Topman. Yuk. Shit quality clothes delivered in shitty plastic bags... 9 fucking quid for delivery and no pick-up service. Ordered some stuff from them recently & sent it all back (bar one thing) because it was total and utter shite. A waste of time & money.

H by Hudson. Been a while since I ordered from them, so I can't remember what they service was like, though if it was bad, I would have remembered. Crap customer service though as they don't respond to emails.

Oakley. Very fast delivery for a US based retailer. Can't remember the delivery costs. Same goes for JCrew (though their sizings are just weird / aimed at massive Americans).

Other ones I've used infrequently and have found decent are YOOX, Anthony Morato, Village Hats - all decent, no problems with any of them.

Yep. Mr Porter packing is sound. I think together with materials, effort and next day deliv, a fiver is a bargain. Especially as it would cost at least 20 in petrol to access any similar clothing in a store. The customer service lady over the phone is bloody lovely too.

Asos I really don't mind the shitty plastic bag packaging. I imagine they have a very high volume of returns so it makes sense.

All Saints I used to spend a fortune on returns, especially footwear back in the day before it was free returns. I still wonder what happens with the boxes they receive. Mine look a state by the time I seal it back up and replace the label

I think the Zara service for Ireland might be different to UK. My experience has been poor with standard delivery which has taken a while for dispatch with very little updates. A tenner for express delivery is havin a laugh.

    The joys of living in Ireland! Still, at 10, it's cheaper than Topman 9 / 11, Mr.Porter 15 / 19.

Can't beat the 3.95 standard delivery though, as they pick up returns from the office which saves the hassle of posting stuff back.

Oh, nearly forgot - my "Shittiest Online Retailer Award" goes to H&M because despite having retail shops in Ireland, they only do deliveries to the counties in Northern Ireland.

I think ASOS are pretty much the gold standard, they also deliver on a Sunday now too which is really convenient, and 9.99 a year gives you unlimited next day delivery which is an amazing deal in my book.

I recently had really good service from a US site. I wanted to order some Alternative Apparel t shirts (the brand doesn't appear to be available outside of the US) from a site called shopblueco.com, they took 7 days to get to the UK, and they only charged $10 dollars postage.

Anyone going in to Brighton Foot Locker should avoid the bald guy in there. Grumpy and rude as funk and sold me a faulty pair of shoes. With the uniform they have to wear he does actually resemble a shit scary ref that you don't mess with.
Everyone else in there is brilliant.
