    Leather Jacket Maintenance

I just purchased a leather jacket from ASOS (below) which I'm quite happy with, fits well and has the minimal look I was after. The only slight issue I have is that I would prefer more of a matte look.

I have read that wiping it with rubbing alcohol can take the shine off and then adding leather conditioner to stop it drying out can help achieve this look. I was wondering if anyone had tried this and has some advice?

    Thanks in advance.

Have you thought of putting it through the washing machine on a gentle short cycle?

I recently soaked a leather jacket in hot water (didn't have the balls to put it in the machine), then wrang it out and air dried it, took the shine right off. I'd give that a go before I put any chemical on it.

Thanks, will give the water trick a try. Do you ever put leather conditioner on it?
