    Widen suit jacket sleeve opening?

I bought a new suit last week and the sleeves needed narrowing down a bit.

I picked it up and it was fine. But with my double cuff shirts, the opening of the jacket sleeve is too narrow and I don't want the jacket sleeve seams pulling. Would a tailor be able to reverse this and widen the arm sleeve opening again -- even just by a small amount so the seam isn't so tight? (Not the whole sleeve from the shoulder, just the lower bit)

It really depends on whether he left the excess material inside the lining or whether he cut it off. If he cut it, you won't be able to do anything. If he didn't, you're laughing.

Can I tell that myself or will I need to ask a tailor?

You should be able to tell if you have a feel around inside the sleeve - the excess material (if it's there) should be either side of the seam. Your tailor will be able to tell you for sure what way he did it. Some tailors will cut, others leave it in case it has to be readjusted. With a bit of luck, it will be the latter.

    I blame these guys
What to wear when suit shopping
They should've told you to bring your other shirt.
