How do you go about buying what you need/want?
I made a thread about indie brands. Idk why nobody posted thought I was gonna get some interesting responses.
So instead of indie brands im gonna ask what are your favorite places to shop? Both online and in store. Mostly looking at where you guys shop online as that's where a huge untapped market is because there is no limit to the internet.
Where do you shop? What places do you know will bring out the best pieces? Does the brand matter or is it the style of clothes that are portrayed by the products that the brand produces?
do you have consitant places that you always shop?
For example. I always shop at uniqlo if I want basics. I'm not stupid enough or snobby enough to pay anything more than 20 bucks on a white shirt. Or anything ridiculous for anything that's purely basic.
However, uniqlo is limited. What if I want a leather jacket? what if i want something unique? What if I wanna buy shoes. Different brands are good at different things. In that case I usually resort to Urban outfitters or asos for unique stuff.
If i can't find them there I shop across seas like korea, japan, china. or I look eBay/amazon.

I usually avoid buying stuff online - usually because im unsure of the fits of the items (with exception to certain brands - of which i know what size fits me). And i know some places do good return policies, i just can't be bothered with it. Probably because im inpatient.
I tried a couple of blazers i ordered online from ASOS, instead of changing them, i got them tailored as it would have been quicker for me to do that then send them back etc.
As for "does brand matter", id argue yes. Im very slim (28" waiste, weighing 65KGs) i find it hard to find clothes that for me well. For this reason ive stuck to buying mostly from certain brands that i know will deff fit me well and avoid ones i know that don't. And with some brands, i think their is an element of you get what you pay for quality wise - as opposed to the idea your just paying for a name/logo.
As for leather jackets and shoes - ive found going to small makers who specialise in only making those items to generally be the best. Its with shoes i finally discovered the importance of quality. I used to buy shoes for £50-60, that would come apart in one way or another within just 12 months. After taking a plunge to buy £150 good year welted shoes - these have lasted me years with no breaks or defaults at all...i learnt my lesson about quality from here on out.
